JAMES LEE STANLEY:

"It is simple, really. With James Lee you get great songs, great guitar playing, great voice and a gifted comedian as well. You are in for a very entertaining evening." Village Voice

JAMES LEE STANLEY is an American singer, musician, songwriter, and actor (who was a regular extra on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager for five years!!)

It is only a long lived singer-songwriter career that lets JAMES LEE STANLEY unite the unpredictable creative turns and the eclectic elements that make up his world. His remarkable ability as a vocalist and composer allow him to create songs, each recorded with a finely crafted with guitar orchestrations that enhance the lyric. But a whole new dimension is added when James Lee performs live. These incredible songs, coupled with his outrageously hilarious repartee, make for an evening of hilarity and tenderness and one of the most entertaining concerts on the circuit.

And as DONNA FROST says…”there’s nothing this man can’t do with his voice and his guitar”. She also calls this opportunity to perform this show with James Lee “a dream come true!”

DONNA FROST:

DONNA FROST was our very first guest on stage at Webb House Concerts, and we love to welcome her back and give her that dream come true! This year she brings JEFF ALLEN, her side kick guitar player from Nashville, and we are really looking forward to hearing what he brings to her show!

DONNA FROST has received ASCAPlus awards for her work as a performing singer/songwriter for 4 consecutive years (2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008). She was a 2004 Kerrville New Folk Finalist and performed at the 2004 New Folk Concert, Kerrville Folk Festival. Donna is an actress as well and starred as Janis Joplin in the musical “Kozmic Blue” for 3 years in Nashville. She also contributed to Marley Brant’s book, “Tales from the Rock and Roll Highway” as well as a new book coming soon by Rev. Keith A. Gordon called “The Other Side of Nashville.” Donna has worked numerous sessions as a demo singer & background vocalist. She also writes & records for “Songs of Love” (songs are created for & given to children with life threatening illnesses-www.songsoflove.org)

Donna performed with longtime friend and idol, the late Skeeter Davis on tour and at the Grand Ole Opry from 1996-2002, and she continues to support the memory and work of Skeeter Davis. (just ask, she’ll do a request!!)

Suggested Donation: $15-20.

Donna Frost and the Jon Hogan Band!!

Fabulous show, and loved meeting Maria, Jon and Ned and the folks that came to hear them! Always great to have Donna in the house, don't know who is happier, me or the Rose! she loves her Donna Frost!
Song circle went until 3 am!! I will not make coffee past midnight again, maybe...it was really a great one, and yes, I know I say that every time, but that's the glory of song circles, it's always true! Patick D'eimon, Steve Brooks, Jeff Tevraas, Mo McMorrow, Donna of course, Allen Henderson...who else? I know I'm leaving someone out...but it was late when it broke up, poor little Rosie was out on the couch at 2 am, she's getting to be an old dog!
Jon and Maria did the TX Neuro Brain rehab the next day, with the kids...and I heard they were a real hit. Maria called to thank me for setting it up, as I told her it would be...the "best audience we've ever had"...those kids love our singer/songwriters showmen...and it takes somewhat of a seasoned showman with versatilty to do it...those kids know so many songs and they LOVE to sing along. I know most are atustic, but none are very introverted when that music starts!
Donna out to TX Neuro to the Bluebonnet Unit for the nursing patients...her first time in that unit. Her 30 minute show went to 90 minutes. The patients come and go for rehab, and if someone was rolled up in their chair, she couldn't leave, she kept singing. Our young man we've been watching..."the picker"...has his hands out of those bandages, but not alot of movement there....but he communicated enough to let Donna know that he had a guitar just like her Takamine ( I think that's it, I'm sure I'll hear if it's not!). I guess I see Leland, my nephew who did his rehab out there after his car accident, in that young man. Donna didn't sell a single CD, she just handed them out...made some happy patients! Our Picker worked as hard as he could to move his arms to read the cover! he can read!! A couple of other young men, in wheelchairs...rehab...and an older woman who sang every Patsy Cline song along with Donna.
Good people doing wonderful things at that rehab, and our singer/songwriters go there to make a good day for them...because in a brain rehab, being able to tell someone that you had a good day is sometimes all you get.

Nov 1st Taylor Pie w/Eben Wood

TAYLOR PIE w/EBEN WOOD!!!
Mo McMorrow to open
Pot luck at 5pm
Music at 6pm
Song circle follows performances!

As a teenager then known as Susan Taylor, Taylor Pie recorded a song called, "Time", and it hit the 1 slot in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston, followed by four albums on Columbia with the Pozo-Seco Singers.

Her soulful messages tap into familiar feelings that unlock forgotten memories. It is no wonder that Bette Midler, Tanya Tucker, Mickey Gilley, The Forester Sisters, Terri Hendrix, Ruby Lovett, and Valerie Smith have recorded her works. "Just Like Angels", written with Dickey Lee was nominated for the gospel Dove Award, and "Full Grown Fool" written with Allen Reynolds, landed Mickey Gilley a Country top 20.

Her PuffBunny Records, cd, "So Little Has Changed," and live album, "Live at Hondo's" with Eben Wood are in rotation on Americana stations and Satellite X radio.

As Eileen Kuperschmid wrote for the Berkshire Sampler: "Whether she's talking or singing, Taylor Pie's worth listening to. She's clear, real clear- with a mother lode of honesty and a voice as pure and light as it is strong."

so...at the summer show with Pie and Eben...it was too hot for the yard...and Cafe Caffeine graciously hosted us! great opening music by Byrd and Street..with the amazing Greg Whitfield! then...watching the guitar players in the audience sit up to take notice of Eben's picking...and then move to see him better! With every ear turned towards Taylor Pie's voice... yeah, nothing's changed since back in the day in Corpus Christi...Taylor Pie is still the amazing voice of true folk and clear, pure lyrics...and Eben is still one of the best pickers around! hope you make a point to come listen...we'll have some fun! and finally, this wonderful duo will be playing right in our back yard at Webb House Concerts!
